You may want to help contain the persistence of this
problem. Here are some ways you can!
Advertise
this site any way you see fit, word of mouth, e-mail, petition, fliers, window stickers, or inform your union. The idea is
to protect American jobs, I am sure they would agree.
Union
leaders should recognize a fair price for the labor. The best negotiation may be to stand pat and extend the current contract.
If every different Union uses "cost of living" as a main bargaining chip for more money, they are in fact driving
up the cost of living. This actually makes a weaker Union because the company cannot afford to expand their number of employees
and that means the Union will not grow either. It also encourages businesses to outsource or seek other means to get
the job done. Also, if you stopped defending the lazy, troublesome worker the others would have a better work environment.
Make a conscious effort to buy American products. Some would argue about American
products being more expensive. (These people, for their own safety, probably should not operate power tools)
Be aware that American companies do not always employ the most Americans,
foreign companies sometimes employ more. Check to see where products such as automobiles are manufactured. The "North
American car of the year", may be made in Canada.
Showing
up for work when you are scheduled is vital. By protecting your employer from paying unnecessary overtime, you are also protecting
your own job as well as yourself.
If you hold
a supervisory or management position it is your responsibility to delegate the workload handed down from ownership, as well
as protect your workforce, from ridiculous demands that may cause their injury or their defiance. Information travels in both
directions and is equally important for both sides.
If
you own a business, realize that it is not only worth its current value, but also its future value. Thousands of dollars in
America today, could be millions of dollars somewhere else tomorrow.
Use small businesses whenever possible. A variety of choices are better for the consumer.
When it comes to automated messages, press zero. Make businesses
employ people.
